About

My name is Gail Pinnock and I’m a dietitian with nearly twenty years’ experience. My particular area of interest is in weight management and bariatric (weight-loss) surgery, but I also offer a broad range of other dietetic services. You can find the full list here, and you can find more about the publications I’ve been involved with here.

If you think I can be of help to you, here’s how you can get in touch.

I have an honours degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and I am registered as a dietitian with the HCPC. I’ve spent all my career working in the specialised area of bariatric (weight loss) surgery and weight management. Initially, I was at the Centre for Obesity Research and subsequently at three of the leading NHS centres that offer bariatric surgery as well as two private hospitals.

I’ve served as an elected Council member of the British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS) and I’m also involved with the delivery of their introductory and advanced dietetic courses. I also delivery the obesity and bariatric surgery module for an MSc course, and I’m a contributing author to several key textbooks.

I’ve undertaken a number of advisory roles, including: clinical advisor for the National Confidential Enquiry into Patient Outcome and Death (NCEPOD) bariatric surgery report ‘Too Lean a Service?’, member of the peer review team for the West Midlands Commissioning of Bariatric Surgery Services and member of the Specialist Commissioning Group for Bariatric Surgery for London and the South East.

I’ve also been instructed to provide expert advisory reports in medico-legal cases.

I’m a member of the following organisations:
